An invitation to contribute to issue 002 of Sublime Rush magazine

Sublime Rush is a magazine for independent artists, rock stars, photographers, writers, models, webmasters, mistresses, illustrators, performers, body modders, designers, musicians, tech addicts, directors, social butterflies, film-makers, publishers, pin-ups, record labels, fashionistas, distributors, promoters and digital media glitterati, to showcase your creative passion and inspire a global audience with eyes, ears and minds wide open.

Sublime Rush is exclusively web-published and the first issue, released mid-October 09, has had almost 30,000 unique pageviews from readers all over the world. You can get more information and read the magazine online at the official website, SublimeRush.com, follow us on Twitter, keep up with us on Facebook and MySpace, and submit individual images for inclusion through the Sublime Rush group on Flickr.

So you’ve read issue 001, hooked up with Sublime Rush online and now you’d like to contribute YOUR work to issue 002, where it will be seen by a whole heap (technical terminology) of people? Here’s how…

Providing that you are OVER 18, you are welcome to contribute just about any kind of independent art-, culture- and entertainment-based content, as long as it is YOUR work and that it doesn’t contain derogatory or threatening statements about individuals or groups, or encourage attacks on any person or group of people for any reason.

You should already have started promoting your own work before you ask Sublime Rush or anyone else to promote you, and you should send links to at least one (preferably more than one) place online where your work can be seen and identified as yours.

If you plan to submit photographs that you didn’t take as part of your contribution (for example, models or bands), you absolutely must have permission from the photographer, and you must provide crediting information including the photographer’s name, website and email address. Artists whose work has been submitted by someone else to illustrate a contribution will be contacted!

We do ask that contributions be made up of finished pieces of work, preferably as part of a collection or existing project or venture. You must be willing to talk about yourself and your work too – it’s YOUR work, so you should have something to say about it!

If you would like to submit just one image without any further details, a great way to do this is through the official Sublime Rush Flickr group.

Depending on the level of interest and the amount of available time when the magazine is being put together, it may not be possible to contact unsuccessful applicants. Please be aware that magazines are often built around features, themes and concepts, so while not all contributions will be relevant at the time when they are first offered, some may be more appropriate for future issues.

At this stage in the magazine’s development, work for Sublime Rush is undertaken on a voluntary basis.

To submit your work for consideration, please email Tanya at mail@sublimerush.com

THE CONTENT DEADLINE FOR ISSUE 002 IS 30TH NOVEMBER 2009.
THE MAGAZINE WILL BE PUBLISHED IN JANUARY 2010.

Sublime Rush issue 001 goes live!

Sublime Rush magazine issue 001

Sublime Rush, the project which has been consuming my mind and my time lately, has FINALLY been released to the big wide world on the world wide web. In case you’ve missed my recent rambling on the subject, Sublime Rush is an independent arts, culture and entertainment magazine and the door is always open to fans, friends, creative content submissions and new readers.

From the website, SublimeRush.com, you can read the magazine online, register with the mailing list to get your hands on the mag before anyone else (plus see special subscriber-only content) and find out how to contribute YOUR work to future issues. You can also come and play at MySpace, Facebook and Twitter.

Any and all help with pimping the project – mentions in blogs, links on MySpace profiles, page promoting on Facebook, tweeting on Twitter etc – in these early days is massively appreciated. I’ve submitted SublimeRush.com and this blog entry to the following social bookmarking sites where you can add your clicks and love to help introduce the magazine to even more new readers…

- SublimeRush.com on Digg
- Blog entry on Digg

Big huge hugs and thanks to the people who made issue 001 awesome…AnaBelle, Keith Caputo, Paul at Coolworld Photography, Jeff Koromi, Joshua Hoffine, Leyla Rose, Susan McKivergan, Danielle McKay at deviantART, Kate White, Kristen Santel AKA Hannah Bel, Teari Vaughn S at Electric Jungle Studios and Unsigned Rock TV, Jo Vallance at Room Thirteen, The Resistance, Micropenis, Alex Kelly, Christer Eckermann AKA Ecker00, Trppl Johnson at ABRA Tribe, Theodore Mander at NeveaH Jewelry, Lorna Currie and Fourthletter.

The magazine has already had almost 20,000 unique pageviews since it went live two days ago and I am so beyond excited. Every time I think about it, I feel all bubbly and hyper. And yes, issue 002 is underway already!

RockstarVanity Photo Blog

I (that's me, Tanya Simpson of RockstarVanity photography) started this blog in July 08 to supplement my website, which doesn't get updated a number of times a week, with something that will get updated a number of times a week.

This is where you'll find my latest photos as I take them (well, very shortly after I take them), news, work and photography-related updates.

You can subscribe to this blog using RSS (the links are at the bottom of the side bar) and you're always welcome to leave a comment and tell me what you think of the photos, or just to say hi.

ViolentlyBeautiful.com: Subversive fashion, fetish and horror art project

SublimeRush.com: Digital independent art magazine

If you would like to receive monthly emails with news, updates, special offers, photos from recent shoots, featured prints and other goodies you can subscribe to my newsletter > HERE <

Prints

--> FOTKI
I sell prints of my work through Fotki, professionally printed in and dispatched from the USA. You order directly from Fotki, and can choose from hundreds of prints from numerous shoots spanning fashion, fetish, modern pin-up, alternative glamour, fine art and horror.

Because Fotki is a public website and some of the images in the Fetish and Art Nude and Horror sections aren't suitable for children, those folders are marked as 'Viewer Discretion Advised'. Because of this, when you first click on those folders to view the pictures inside, a warning will appear. Simply click through the warning to view the pictures.

--> deviantART
I also sell a selection of prints (paper, canvas and framed board) and other products featuring my work (coasters, fridge magnets, mugs, jigsaw puzzles, postcards) through deviantART. Some of the images will not be visible to non-members of deviantART due to the site's 'Mature Content' settings for horror, fetish and nude images.

Books

My first book, Violently Beautiful, is now for sale through Blurb. It's a full-colour 80 page retrospective with my work from the first three years of my career spanning the genres of alternative fashion, fetish, modern pin-up, horror, portraiture and conceptual art.

There are two versions, a 7x7 inch paperback Original Edition and an 8x10 inch hardback Deluxe Edition.
