–[ HELLO ]–
My photography studio is a laid-back and welcoming environment in which to create art, build your portfolio or work with clients. Most of my own work falls within non-mainstream genres, so I have a very relaxed attitude when it comes to style and subject matter. For bookings, you can contact me at Tanya@RockstarVanity.com or by phone on 07737 549 774.
.
–[ PRICE ]–
The space is available for supervised* hire for £15 per hour or part thereof, or £40 for three hours. This includes use of all equipment and props.
.
–[ LOCATION ]–
The studio is on the South Side of Edinburgh City Centre (view the location on Google Maps), surrounded by pay and display parking and with a car park nearby. It is accessible 24/7 and since I’m a self-employed photographer, I can be flexible with arrangements and am happy to accomadate evening and weekend bookings.
.
–[ DETAILS ]–
The space is compact with a shooting area or approximately 7m x 3m, with white walls and a wooden floor (complete with paint spatters for an authentic industrial look), a curtained changing area, small bathroom and kitchenette. There is ALWAYS coffee
.
–[ PHOTOGRAPHIC EQUIPMENT ]–

- 2 x Bowens Quad 2000 flash heads with stands.
- 2 x white shoot-through brollies.
- Beauty dish.
- HUGE soft-box.
- IR trigger and hot-shoe adapter centre (for the lights) which fit onto most dSLRs.

.
A Canon EOS 350R dSLR with 18-55mm and 50mm f1.8 lenses, Canon Speedlite 430EX flash with lead and IR shutter trigger is also available for clients who don’t have access to a digital camera. The camera can shoot in RAW and JPEG. If you would like to use this camera, you will need to bring your own Compact Flash card to use as this will not be provided.
.
–[ PROPS ]–
The studio is home to a selection of women’s clothing in sizes 8-18, various robes and drapery in fabrics ranging from crushed velvet to vinyl, and a small collection of women’s shoes and boots in sizes 4-6. There is a wide range of props, including a variety of wigs, masks, medical-style accessories, horror-related things and various leather and metal bits and pieces. If you would like to ask about a specific prop, or style of prop, feel free to get in touch.
.
–[ OTHER PEOPLE ]–
Use of the studio does NOT include provision of a model, make-up artist, hair stylist or wardrobe stylist. You must make these arrangements yourself. If you don’t personally know anyone suitable for your shoot, networking sites such as ModelMayhem.com can be very useful.
.
–[ TUITION ]–
While I am more than happy to run through basic use of the lights (and camera, if you aren’t bringing your own), tuition is NOT included in the price of studio hire. If you wish to book one-on-one tuition, this will be an additional £25 per hour on top of the price of the studio hire. If you do not wish to pay for tuition but have little or no experience using a digital SLR, it is advisable that you familiarise yourself with the basics of photography and camera settings before attempting a studio shoot.
.
–[ PRIVACY ]–
The studio is in an ex-retail unit shared by a small group of artists, which adds to the friendly vibe, so while the shooting and changing areas are completely private, it is generally not guaranteed that no-one else will be in the building. If you are planning a shoot that you will only feel comfortable doing in complete privacy, please let me know in advance so that I can arrange a suitable time for this.
.
–[ NO BEGGING, PLEASE ]–
Please do not ask to use my studio for free or for less than the prices stated here. If I could afford to give freebies or cheaper hire sessions, I would. But since I can’t, all requests of that nature will be denied so please don’t embarrass yourself or me by asking. Thank you.
.
*While I am happy to help out during your shoot, I am equally as happy to stay out of your way if you feel more comfortable with that.

Some quick snaps of the studio itself. The photos OF the space aren’t quite as artistic as the photos taken IN it
